Hello my fellow bookworms and page turners, now this is a post is of something slightly different to what I usually blog about. This weekend was a rare change to meet and see the work of a very popular artist Craig Davidson at the artmarket Gallery, Cottingham. The Sheffield bourne artist was in town as part of the Cottingham day celebrations, which took place on Saturday the 4th.
Craig Davidson has had quite the career over the years, starting off as a cartoonist and then moving into animation and computer games design. He has also worked as a freelance sculptor on making action figures for various popular franchises such as DR Who and Harry Potter.
The exhibit consisted of various original oils and pencil sketches of Davidsons work, in fact the Gallery was showcasing his work exclusively. I particularly like his work that depicts children playing to be there idols, and hero’s and having those idols projected behind them, in fact I will post a few here for you to see.

If you wish to see more of Craigs work, please check out the Artmarket website here. and also the Castle Gallery Collection here not to mention Craig Davidson’s Official Website
As well as Craig’s personal appearance at the Artmarket gallery, visitors can enjoy a dog show, birds of prey demonstrations, classic cars and motorcycles, a cycle race and live music.
All in all it was a very enjoyable day, so long as you could stand the heat and didn’t melt that is!
